Feb 08, 2011 StuffIt is a third-person horde wave shooter aimed for mobile devices. You play as a kid who used to abuse stuffed animals by ripping them apart and doing unmentionable things to their stuffings and now the stuffed animals have kidnapped you for revenge. System 6 Hell: Games and Apps for Mini vMac (updated February 19, 2017) This page provides disk images containing shareware and freeware Macintosh games and applications. Originally, this collection was limited to programs published in the 1980s, but it has been expanded to include some helpful applications and historically important games from the early 1990s. May 29, 2012 Stuffit Expander is a free decompression utility that may still be of use to some users - especially, for example, when trying to decompress older Stuffit (.sit or.sitz) archives. Many users will do fine with just the built-in Archive Utility in Mac OS, which handles.zip files and a wide variety of.tar archives.
What is StuffIt Deluxe 1.5.x - 8.x? StuffIt was the most versatile and used compression suite on the Mac since 1987. It began as shareware and then it went commercial but StuffIt Expander (the decompression tool) always remained free and was even bundled by Apple on Mac OS release CD-ROM's starting from the mid-90's, coinciding with the popularity of the internet in homes. It became so much of an essential tool when downloading basically *anything* from the internet. Macintosh applications (and most documents) all contain resource forks which are not binary safe nor transfered using standard FTP or HTTP tools such as web browsers. Therefore, StuffIt took care of bundling resource forks along with the binary data constituting the file and allowed for uploading/downloading from or to a web server. It also took care of storing such Mac files on a Windows computer for instance. This .sit format stayed forever the #1 choice for archiving old Macintosh files/applications whereas .zip format became the standard on Windows computers. StuffIt Expander 5.5 was the most commonly used archive extractor in the later 90's on Mac OS 8 until the standard edition 7.0 came bundled with Mac OS 9. Until version 7, StuffIt Expander 5.5 was a must have tool especially for people surfing the web as everything was compressed and archived in .sit or .hqx as a way to preserve resource forks on web servers. Without archiving, any Mac software would have been rendered useless the instant it would be stored on a PC server. That's why StuffIt Expander 5.5 has always been freely distributed on various software compilations and has always been free to use. StuffIt Expander could extract a wide variety of archive types such as to name a few: .sit, .zip, .tar, .bin, .cpt DropStuff 5.5 is the opposite of Stuffit Expander, it lets you compress/archive Mac files to a binary safe format such as .sit. Using DropStuff, you could archive any files you want and copy them to a PC file system without any fear of file corruption.
